You have ideas? We have money! Over the last years Prototype Fund has funded a handful of Nextcloud projects and we'd love to keep supporting the awesome Nextcloud community. We're here to tell you how to apply to get money for your idea and to show you the type of projects we can fund.
From diversity to sustainability, from networking infrastructure to participation tools, including of course Nextcloud apps, we're open to a lot of ideas! The only rules: publish your project under a FOSS license and make sure you can realistically build it in a 6-months period.
The Prototype Fund is a funding program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) that is managed and evaluated by the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany. Individuals and small teams (of freelance coders, hackers, UX designers and more) can receive funding in order to test their ideas and develop FOSS applications in the areas of Civic Tech, Data Literacy, IT Security and Software Infrastructure. We aim to keep innovation processes as well as infrastructures open and accessible.
